This checklist is for preparation and does not claim that every item will be mandatory.
Before you prepare
Distinguish published information from unpublished requirements
The official JESTA application form, its fields, the required documents and the payment method have not yet been published. You can check your passport details and travel plans in advance, but refer to future official information for what will actually be required.
Do not send passport images, payment-card details or sensitive declarations to a website merely because it uses the JESTA name. Confirm the operator, privacy terms, total charges and government connection before entering data.
This website does not collect applications. The lists below help travelers organize information offline while official requirements remain pending.

Avoid preventable errors
Three accuracy checks before submission
Read from the passport
Do not rely on memory or a booking profile. Enter names, numbers and dates from the passport that will be used for travel.
Check every traveler
Review each adult and child separately. Similar family names and passport numbers can make copy-and-paste errors difficult to notice.
Save the submitted record
Keep the reference number, receipt, answers and notices together so that any discrepancy can be checked later.
A small spelling or number error may connect an authorization to the wrong travel document. Final correction rules are not yet available.
Files and uploads
Document requirements have not been announced
The documents required for a JESTA application, and any requirements for uploading passport images, have not yet been published. Once official information is released, check the accepted file types, sizes and submission method.
Use the same passport for the application and travel unless official rules say otherwise.
Check file type and size only against the live official instructions.
Avoid sending documents by ordinary email unless a verified authority instructs you to do so.
Children and assisted applications
Prepare a separate traveler record for each person
If you are applying as a family, organize the passport information for each adult, child and infant separately. For applications by a representative or as a group, refer to the official information once it is published.
Do not reuse one traveler’s answers for another without checking every field.
